Should your pet require special care, we are skilled at treating skin disorders topically through the use of medicated shampoos.

A positive grooming experience results in your pet feeling happy and looking great! Pamper your pet with a day at our AMH Spa. Each of our professional groomers offers more than 20 years of experience with dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes.

Wellness begins with maintaining the skin and coat, and regular grooming is a key component in your pet’s health and well-being. While grooming is usually associated with washing your pet, it covers a much wider range of care that includes skin, coat, ears, tail, face, belly, feet and nails. All of these areas require specific care in hygiene and maintenance, varying in need by type and breed. Pets are more likely to be healthy and happy if they are kept clean and well groomed.

One of the benefits of a regular grooming appointment is that we become familiar with your pet’s body, allowing us to recognize developing problems before they escalate. Between wellness visits, grooming professionals are often able to identify such conditions as parasite infestations, skin lesions under the coat, allergies, tenderness, swelling or lumps, and various conditions that manifest by changes in coat condition. Your grooming professional is another member of your veterinary team, supporting and guiding you in the basic wellness care of your animal companion.

Motivation for grooming varies: hygiene in companion animals, functionality in working animals, and style in show animals. When you schedule a groom at AMH Spa, expect our professionals to meet with you the morning your pet is dropped off to discuss the type of services you would like for your pet. The AMH Spa provides a custom grooming experience for every client.

The Grooming Experience

We treat our clients to all of the amenities the AMH Spa has to offer, such as:

  • The Hydro-Surge, which cleans deep down while massaging the entire coat
  • A luxurious conditioner to render the coat glossy and silky smooth
  • Our fluff and dry service, done carefully — by hand — with a personal dryer

The groomer makes a careful head-to-toe assessment of your pet, looking for any skin-related medical problems such as fleas, ticks, and hotspots. Our professionals then consult with you, should we find the need for medicated treatments or a veterinary referral. In addition, we locate and remove any mats from your pet’s coat prior to bathing. Matting prevents thorough washing and drying, can cause skin problems, and may prevent flea and tick products from effectively penetrating the coat, leaving your pet unprotected. The overall health and wellbeing of each animal is paramount at AMH Spa.

Our highly trained professionals focus on comprehensive care while offering a relaxing experience for your pet. At the AMH Spa, our grooming service includes:

  • Cleaning the ears
  • Expressing the anal glands
  • Trimming the nails
  • Brushing out loose or shedding hair
  • Applying cologne or fragrance, upon request

Should your pet require special care, we are skilled at treating skin disorders topically through the use of medicated shampoos. This simple and soothing procedure is safe and beneficial, even when combined with other medications or therapies. Medicated baths can be advantageous when treating such problems as dermatitis, mange, or yeast infections, and may be quite successful in controlling dander and seborrhea. If your veterinarian prescribes or recommends this type of relief for your pet, the AMH Spa professionals will consult with the team for consistent and complete oversight and treatment.

Our commitment to quality, and special attention to detail, results in an expert finish and a positive groomingexperience for every client. Remember, too, that every pet groomed at the AMH Spa receives our 100% flea-free guarantee!

A Note About Sedation

Some pets respond negatively to the grooming process, perhaps frightened of the noises associated with bathing or by having their feet or ears touched. Whatever the concern, our caring and gentle groomers will do everything possible to make your pet feel comfortable and safe.

There are some situations, however, where your dog or cat may need to be sedated to ensure the safety of both your pet and the grooming professionals. Our AMH Spa team members work with a veterinarian and technician to ensure the safety of your pet while under sedation. There is an additional fee for sedation while receiving AMH Spa services — please contact us with any questions about sedation or if you believe your pet may benefit from this intervention.

Appointments for AMH Spa services are available Monday through Saturday. We offer bathing for our boarded pets on Sundays, as well.

Trudy (Exam Room Assistant) always gives such excellent care to my girls. She treats them like she is genuinely interested in caring for them rather than just performing her job. She’s wonderful — she’s a keeper!
