The importance of wellness bloodwork
Anyone who loves their pet would do just about anything to keep their pet
happy and healthy for as long as possible. But how do you know if your pet
is in perfect health? Serious illness or disease isn’t always obvious,
especially in the early stages. And, unfortunately, our pets can’t tell
us how they feel.
So how do you know for sure if your pet is healthy?
The answer is annual physical examinations and diagnostic testing.
Diagnostic testing can provide you with a clear picture of your pet’s
overall health by identifying medical issues in the early stages so that
your pet can be diagnosed and treated properly. “Age is not a disease.”
There are many conditions that, if diagnosed early enough, can be
completely reversed or controlled for extended periods of time. In
addition, assuming that all the tests are normal, it can provide your
veterinarian with baseline data for future healthcare needs, and it can give
you the most important thing: peace of mind.

Introducing our newest doctor
The newest member of the AMH Team, Dr. Fanning grew up in Ohio and graduated
with her DVM degree from The Ohio State University. GO BUCKS!!! She
completed an internship at a large referral hospital in south Florida and
worked there for six years before moving to Charlotte. She has a special
interest in internal medicine, laser surgery, and especially integrative
medicine. Integrative medicine involves the ability to combine traditional
western medicine with complementary/alternative therapies like acupuncture,
nutritional therapy, and traditional Chinese (eastern) medicine to best
treat each individual pet. This integrative approach has allowed Dr.
Fanning to offer recommendations and treatment options to promote health and
healing that is not just limited to mainstream medicine.
In addition to being enthusiastic about her work, Dr. Fanning also loves
running, biking, CrossFit and enjoying our beautiful outdoors. She shares
her home with a bouncy golden retriever named Necie and a stuck up cat who
occasionally answers to Cassiopeia.
