Some things, though, can wait until daylight hours. Other things are true pet emergencies. Knowing when you need emergency pet care is important.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Certain symptoms warrant immediate evaluation. These include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Vomiting or diarrhea (more than twice in a 24 hour period)<\/li><li>Depression<\/li><li>Weakness\/staggering<\/li><li>Not eating\/drinking for more than 24 hours<\/li><li>Trouble breathing<\/li><li>Inability to urinate<\/li><li>Gagging or retching<\/li><li>A sudden change in personality<\/li><li>Signs of pain<\/li><li>Pale gums<\/li><li>Known trauma such as being hit by a car, or attacked by another animal<\/li><li>Chewing on an electrical cord<\/li><li>Ingestion of a toxin or other harmful item<\/li><li>Bleeding for more than five minutes (or blood in urine\/feces)<\/li><li>Seizures (especially if multiple or lasting more than five minutes)<\/li><li>Trouble delivering puppies or kittens<\/li><li>Eye problems<\/li><li>High or low body temperature<\/li><li>Obvious injury like a broken bone<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Other times you may not be sure that your pet is in need of emergent care. Our philosophy is that it is never wrong to check things out.
