What exactly is doggie Day Camp?
Doggie Day Camp is essentially dog daycare. While at Camp AMH, your dog gets to socialize and play with other dogs in a structured and safe environment.
Does the evaluation have to be completed before my dog's first day?
No. We understand that it can be difficult to find a time to bring your dog for an evaluation. We allow the evaluation to be held during your dog's first day at Camp AMH. Your dog will not join the play groups until after passing his or her evaluations. If, for any reason, your dog does not pass the evaluation, we will provide 2-3 solo recesses for your dog that day. A solo recess consists of 10-15 minutes that your dog will have private access to one of our play areas.
How will my dog spend his/her day while at Day Camp?
Your dog will spend the day playing and socializing with other dogs in a structured environment. We have a daily schedule that includes time for play and time for rest. During play time, your dog will be out in the play area, separated into size, energy and personality appropriate groups with other dogs. During rest time, your dog will be in a private, size-appropriate cabin or suite. Lunch is provided at no cost and at owner's request.
Do you offer puppy daycare?
We do not. All dogs must be at least 16-weeks old and have completed their 4th round of puppy vaccines to attend the Day Camp play groups.
Will my Day Camp pass expire?
We hate the idea that you would lose a day that you have paid for, just as much as you do! Our Day Camp passes are good for a year from the date purchased.
What are the play areas like?
Our indoor facility has a mix of play areas with doggie turf and smooth indoor flooring. The doggie turf areas have open windows to the outside that allow for fresh air for your dog. The play areas are large and climate-controlled, and have doggie playground equipment and pools in the summer. Trained Pet Counselors are present in every play area to keep your pet occupied and provide all the exercise and attention they need.
Do I bring my own dog food?
Many owners elect to feed their dog before and after day camp. While not required, we can feed your dog food you provide based on your instructions.
Can I bring my dog's bed and toys?
We do not allow outside bedding, toys, and personal items as we provide these items. We would hate to lose your pet's favorite blanket, bed, or toy in our effort to maintain a clean facility.
What happens if my dog becomes ill or injured?
Our Pet Counselors are trained to keep a close eye on all of the dogs and notify a veterinarian if anything seems abnormal. We pride ourselves on our ability to quickly address any health concern that arises with any of our Camp AMH pets. We will make every attempt to contact you at all available contact numbers. If an emergency situation arises, your dog will be seen by one of our wonderful veterinarians immediately.
Do I need to make a reservation?
Reservations are preferred. Spaces are limited and we cannot guarantee that there will be spaces available that day without a reservation.
Do you offer Day Camp on weekends?
We are open 7 days a week, including weekends!
